    Morning all,

Been trying to keep up to date with you all. Well done to all the winners and hope your oven is fixed soon April. I was without a cooker for 2 weeks once as they had to wait on a part. Was only about 18 months old too. Been fine since. Didn't even have rings to use.

C0nfused I didn't realise there was more than one page of comps for ages!

Anyway, I am having a lovely time and the weather has been great.
Been doing all the Ironbridge Attractions we missed last time we were here plus did Blists Victorian Village again. We still had passport which lasts a year so all free to do again this time. Having a really MSE break as had Tesco vouchers to eat at Caf! Rouge and Zizzi and 3 of nights in hotels free. Paid for all you can eat Asian meal last night though so have spent something! Going to Boscobel House later (where King Charles 11 hid in Oak tree) It will be free too as English Heritage and we are members. Staying at Leigh and then home tomorrow.
    Have a lucky day .

Glad you're having a great time sheils - well done for being so MSE too! Hope the weather stays good for you. :)

Man came to fix the oven - 10 minutes before the end of the time slot I was given, so another wasted afternoon! Have to wait in for two lots of roofers on Monday too, as the landlord is really dragging his feet getting the leaking roof fixed, and this will be the 5th and 6th quote he's asked for!! I don't see why I should waste my time waiting for them. *sigh* It's been two years since I reported it too...

Anyway, enough moaning - I'm not back at work til next Tuesday and I've got a few days with my parents to look forward to. We might go on the Borders railway to Abbotsford house if the weather is nice, and we're going out for dinner and cocktails tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a lovely and lucky day!

    :hello: Good morning everyone!

    Hope you're all well. :)

It's a beautiful day here too fire**fly - sun is shining
away, gorgeous blue skies, all is well with my little
    life.

    smileys-sunbathing-960614.gif

Definitely no prizes for guessing where I'll be and
what I'll be up to throughout the day! :D

Great the car only needed new windscreen wipers indie.

Lol at the weight of the dartboard! They are incredibly
heavy - can remember years ago putting a dartboard up
for my son .... hadn't realised how weighty it was - plus
to complicate matters it was enclosed in a wooden
container thingy, where you could open up the doors
which were actually chalkboard on the inside so you
could play the game and then mark the scores as you
    played.

The air was pretty blue by the time I had finished!
    :rotfl:

It's still up there now after all these years - guess I must
have done a pretty good job! :p

Your meal yesterday sounded scrumptious sylv! Love apple
    crumble too! :)

You are doing just fine C0nfused! When I first started
it took me ages to work out the boards ... still get
befuddled now .... after all these years! :rotfl:
Fingers 'n paws crossed for you - hope the comping
fairy is flitting over your way. :p

Sounds like you're both having a wonderful time sheils!
As April says - well done for being so MSE too! :D

Pleased the chap turned up to mend your oven April -
can't believe that you reported the roof leaking 2 years
ago and nothing has been done! Sounds as if
your landlord doesn't like spending money on any
repairs, however important/necessary they are! “A
stitch in time saves nine" immediately springs to
    mind!

Have a lovely time with your parents. A trip on the
Borders railway to Abbotsford house sounds glorious.
The house is so interesting and with lovely grounds too,
will make for a wonderful day out. :)

Have a lovely and lucky day all, behave yourselves
:rotfl: and I will catch up later. :)

Hope you didn't really get hit on the head with a rake Alfie! :rotfl:

Yes, I've been meaning to go to Abbotsford for ages. My mum and I were going to go on the way back from Northumberland last year, but by the time we got there, there was rain in biblical amounts, and we decided to save it for another time! We almost needed an ark that day!

My landlord is definitely a patch it up and hope for the best kind of guy. He never wants to pay money to get stuff sorted properly! When I moved in there was a hole about one and a half feet long, and half a foot wide in the floorboards (under a bookcase), that had completely rotted away! You could see right underneath - who knows what might've crawled up, haha! Anyway, it took 3 months for my concern to even be acknowledged, and then he said 'oh that was there when I bought the flat, but I can put a board over it...' - which he did, but not very well!

Have just heard Victoria Wood has died! Why is cancer determined to kill of all our British legends this year?! What's going on?!

    Hellooooo!!

Hoped today would be "Winning Wednesday" but it wasn't to be lol! Nevermind.. there can always be "Thoroughly Amazing Thursday"...

I hate waiting in for engineers or large deliveries... although since we have had our dog I do my best to arrange such things when we are away (and then my mum or a friend waits for them for me....!) Mainly because my dog does have a habit of wanting to nip workmen that come to the house.. Not sure why. However, it seems to work a treat as they seem to wish to do my housework whilst they are waiting.. happy days.

My car went in for a service and a few other jobs and I've got it back only to find that they didn't touch one job that I'd asked them to do... ah well.. lights aren't that important are they??!?!?!?!

It is very sad about Victoria Wood.. its been a bad year and pretty much all of the big name celebrities that have died so far this year has been from cancer... not good. Unfortunately its not just killing celebrities but people full stop. Perhaps if any good is to come from this is an increased awareness about cancer and the importance of getting checked out quickly...

COnfused good luck. I found it look a while to work my way around the comps board.
