Newbie here - just wanted to pop by and say hello. It's certainly lovely and bright in this thread, I'm enjoying all the wonderful pictures. :happylove

Sun is shining here at the mo, but I have so much to get on with inside unfortunately!
Argh, my oven had flames coming out of the fan part last night, and my letting agent is shut til Monday! I'm supposed to be baking my mum's birthday cake on Wednesday, but looks like that might not happen now. :-( My letting agency move at a snail's pace, so I don't think it will be likely they'll get it sorted by then. Not pleased!

I'm sorry to hear about your oven AprilLady... perhaps you could do a non-traditional birthday cake like a no-bake cheesecake or fridge cake? (There's a hummingbird bakery recipe for fridge cake that's to die for!) ... I'm due to be making my brother's birthday cake tomorrow so I can sympathise.

I thought the choir were brilliant fire**fly and the
visual dance act. That bloke was the strange one I
was thinking of ff but couldn't recall his name. It was
the look on the faces of the judges too lol! :rotfl:

here but I can spy light clouds fast approaching! Hope
they don't come over my abode bearing rain cos I'm
fairly enjoying myself out gardening!

Thanks Inkling - that's a great idea! If things don't work out well I'll keep that in mind! I do have a free cake at John Lewis voucher, maybe that will do instead! :rotfl:

Thanks Alfie! Her birthday is actually Thursday - same day as the Queen! (but not the same year, haha!) Apparently there will be a 21 gun salute from the castle, and fireworks from Britannia, so we're pretending that they've been organised for her!

There are loads of competitions on MSE COfused, have your tried the daily Mags yet? Good luck for a win soon.

Was thinking firefly about you wanting new curtains, have you tried Dunhelm Mill thats where I got ours from they have some lovely ones usually and are good quality too.

I've just taken a look.. I'll take a proper look during the week and enter a few more.. I did enter a couple of them though, whilst I was there!
