Sounds good for your DD Sheils. Shame she has exam on her bitrthday. Biology is a difficult subject I think.
Sheils we decided to go away for our 25th as DH's sisters argued all the time and we couldn't have a party and not invite them. We went to one of the Italian lakes. Before then we had never agreed on paintings but we both liked and bought a very large oil painting. It was lire at the time and cost about a million! (I think approx £600). They wrapped it very well and when we arrived back at Gatwick we eventually found it. Then going through customs we thought we had better declare it. You could hardly hide it over 1m by about 75cm! The customs officers gave us a lecture about the Treaty of Rome and how as long as we were not bringing in antiquities we were fine nothing to pay. We still have it and it takes pride of place in lounge.
By the time it was our 40th two of the sisters had died and one was in America. We had a big party here in the house. A friend helped and it went very well.
It's very difficult to decide what to do but I think you have to go with what you are both comfortable with its your celebration.
It's a great thing to reach these landmarks and be happy. We realised that on both sides we were the first ones to reach 40th for about eighty years. I don't think anyone much reached 25th due to deaths.
Fire Fly hope you enjoyed your takeaway. Here DH went for fish and chips. At table he suddenly said you do realise that's Pepper! I was shaking it over my food. I'd bought a new cruet set we don't use pepper much. Fortunately the holes must be a bit blocked as it didn't taste too much. Lo.0 -

Up bright and early here and getting a few comps done before we head for Chester. Staying at the racecourse so not far to walk to the centre. Nice for DH to go there as he used to live and work there for a while.
Frosty again here but sun coming out already. Forecast for our trip is fine. Got a bit too many showers in the Highlands!
Hope everyone has a lovely day and a lucky week.

Sound like its all organised then for your DD's 18th Sheils, thats lovely of her BF taking her away.
We are not sure what we are doing for our 25th WA yet leanfun. We still have some vouchers we won from Out of the Blue so rather fancied a lovely steam train ride and stay over but it all depends if we have moved by then so not booking anything yet.
