  • So sorry to hear that SueP19, you are an incredibly strong woman.

My eldest was nearly born at 28 weeks but after 2 doses of some drugs to 'bring' her lungs to maturity (or better than they were) and various drugs to stop contractions, I held on until I was 36 weeks pregnant. She spent a month is Special care and the only problem she had was an inability to suck as she never developed the ability to do it.

Miscarriage in between eldest and youngest and youngest was a threatened miscarriage until about 18 weeks pregnant.

I don't think we will ever stop worrying about them will we :D (maybe I can hide her car keys) :rotfl:

Eldest is a 2nd year vet student and wants a small holding so is very interested in mortgages and I have drummed it into her that even if you can only overpay a little off the balance, it is worth doing as and when you can. Her ex boyfriend asked what her 'life dreams' were, she answered ' a small holding with cats, dogs, pigs, goats, sheep.....and anything fluffy'..........they broke up pretty soon after! :rotfl: (she is fine about it honest).

I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage, you have inner strength too..............I had pre-eclampsia at 28 weeks, delivered at 30, a little boy (it was in the days when lung popping drugs hadn't been invented) so very familiar with ICU

DD was our miracle so we stopped at that.

Your DD's idea of life's dream sounds fabulous, we are 3 miles from the local village :D:D:D no street lights no traffic, no noise apart from the badgers, the foxes, the owls, the deer.......

  • I am very envious of the place you live, I would love to live away from a town. We are in the South and property prices have rocketed and that is partly why we want to pay the house off. We can them move North and get a much nicer house with a bit of land for less than our house is worth.

We live in a 4 bed semi, garage, no front garden to speak of and a small back garden on an estate and the house attached to us sold last month for £300,000!!! I guess it's partly because London has got so expensive that people are looking to move out and we are only a 30 minute train journey from London.

    Not surprised on £300k

We live 3 miles down a single track road, fields in front and behind, you can see for miles, garden is large enough to park a tractor in the drive and one can be found parked there often especially in summer. OH hated town living he was born in a farmhouse :p

It sounds like you have a great plan :T

  • That sounds wonderful.

When I met Hubbie (no. 2) he lived in a village and when he said he wouldn't move to a large town I was jumping for joy as I hate town living but he now lives in a town and loves it :(

My obsession knows no bounds.....interest checked again today and at £4.72 a day :D

Total payments made to the mortgage as at today, £907.15 - 2 months interest payments of £144.93 means I have paid additional payments of £617.29 since the 1 January and when I make the payment tomorrow it will total £784.39! :j

I was hoping to have paid an additional £1,000 by the end of February but that is looking unlikely but should hit £951.29 :j:j. I wonder where I can eeek an additional £48.71 from! :o

There surely must be something I can sell............:rotfl:
  • I have overpaid an amount of £170 on my mortgage this week, so pleased with how it is coming down, even just a little! :j

I did have to pop to Aldi this morning though as we needed fruit and veg and as we have 4 rabbits I always seem to be buying veg! Eldest DD will be taking her 2 rabbits with her when she leaves later this year but I will still have my 2 feral 'foster' rabbits. They arrived in September 2014 for 3 weeks whilst the local 'rabbit rescue' lady went away and well, they just never left. I don't think anyone would have rehomed them as they are really aggressive and pretty much unhandleable, they were born in the wild to pet bunnies that had been set free and we got them at 6 weeks old once the parents and babies had been caught

I really need to get my food budget under control, maybe going back to a spending diary would help.

Today is a lovely quiet day for me, eldest already dropped at the train station and youngest starting work at 10am, then I have until 4.30pm all to myself......time to cross stitch I think! :rotfl:
