Try the TV with just the antenna connected straight into the back of it and see if it persists.
If all is now OK, add the Humax and finally the Now box to determine the culprit.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
The usual delay between switching channels is caused by having a device that can record or allow pausing/rewinding of live tv.
thats because these will record the channel you are watching and you actually watch the recording rather than the live channel. There needs to be a few seconds of recording before you can actually start watching it, which is where the delay comes from when changing channel

Do you use the TV or the Humax as the main TV receiver?
Has whichever you use had an update recently? After years of disappointment with get-rich-quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme...and quick! - Homer Simpson0 -

Which Humax recorder?
My Foxsat-HDR will output a fixed Vertical format (576i, 720p, 1080i) or the Original V format of the broadcast channel...
Channel change almost instant if fixed but if set to Original (and my TV does the de-interlace/upscale which in my view give better pictures) then the PVR and TV have to re-negotiate over hdmi and results in a few seconds delay...
The V-format button is on the remote - bottom row 2nd from right. It cycles through the options, and can be hit in error.
Other causes can be delays while the device retunes and acquires data from a mux tune cf two channels on the same mux on Freeview: (BBC1-BBC2 instant - BBC2-ITV a delay).
There's no need for a delay between writing to and reading from a buffer on an AV hard disk... if $ky boxes do that it is down to poor design/software writing.0 -
Thanks for that info Rodders - much appreciated (as was all the other replies) I pressed the V format button a couple of times and whilst I don't quite know what I was doing it seems to have solved the problem ie no delay now when changing channels - so thank you very much for your time.0
