I am new to switching and currently BG Dual Fuel Standard Tariffs. MSE shows that the1YR FIX: BRITISH GAS Collective Fix February 2017 will save me over £460 per year. I currently pay by Variable Direct Debit (ie I only pay each month for the energy that I use each month.) The MSE Site only shows a payment method of 'Direct Debit' with no mention of a variable DD. Will I still be able to pay a variable amount per month based on actual meter readings if I switch?
  • I think we will see a ridiculous amount of these collective switches from now on given the fact that many of the cheapest readily avaialable deals are now from companies who refuse to play the game and pay the switching sites commission. Think about it, at the end of the day the commissions paid to these switching sites is only making the cost of G&E more expensive to the vast majority.

Hi there - I've answered this over on your other thread. But in short you can change back to variable post the switch going through.
  • Thanks Dan - Completed my application now and waiting for BG to approve.
