Winning 1yr fix: British gas
This tariff is currently promoted on the MSE site as a best buy
Collective Fix February 2017 | Fixed till 28 Feb 2017
However on the BG web site it mentions a reduction in the gas tariff of 5.1% on March 16th
Read the T&C`s and it clearly states:-
[1] The gas price cut on 16th March 2016 is an average reduction of 5.1%, with any variations reflecting the cost of distributing energy to different regions and payment types. Based on Ofgem annual consumption of 12,500 kWh gas, averaged across all payment methods and regions. Excludes Collective Switch tariffs.
So is it really a best buy, if this 5.1% reduction wont apply

Generally reductions like these apply only to standard (i.e. expensive) tariffs. The likelihood is you will still save on a fixed deal taken out now compared to staying on a 5.1% reduced standard variable tariff.0

E.on has also totally disappeared from the Cheap Energy Club. It was awkwardly cheaper than the British Collective deal ;-)MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

Hi there
Worth checking that you're definitely eligible for the tariff. Full details at the link below.

I'm afraid Eon has removed its v19 tariff from the market, which is why you can no longer see on it the site (its newer tariff is quite a way down the list).0 -

Hi Gizmo247
Dan's spot on. We withdrew our Fixed 1 Year tariff (version 19) from sale and replaced it with version 20 earlier this week. As version 20 is more expensive it's dropped down the CEC table.
Hope this explains.
