I'm loathe to try "gimmicky" products until I have proof they do what they say on the package... but I don't have any problem keeping a cauli in my fridge for a week anyway, as long as it doesn't get contaminated by other products

I have the same problem with spud - they're green or sprouty in just a few days! I can never keep them longer than a week even in a paper sack in the garage in constant darkeness!! We now eat more pasta rice and cous cous!

Perhaps it's because they keep buying them from other countries and they are taking longer to get from field to table?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

A: Get your potatoes out of the plastic bag and into a cloth bag or natural fibre bag.
Store them away from onions somewhere cool, dark and airy - not the fridge. "

My mate keeps on at me to try the Atkins diet as she's had great success with it, so if I do then spuds are out anyway, b-b-b-but I love bread and pasta too much
Wouldn't mind trying his rockerfella with real spuds though"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Back to gimmicky stuff ... but Lakeland also do a cloth bag that we used to keep spuds in for ages. We've moved to a bigger house with c/h and don't have anywhere cool now, other than in the fridge. (I know, I know.)
