Try saving to your C:\ drive.

you can't just save to cd/dvd as you would a floppy - you have to save to c drive then burn those files to cd/dvd.

Because you can't normally write (save) directly to DVD and CD drives like you can with a floppy disk. You have to save to a hard drive (e.g. C: ) first and then use a CD/DVD burner program or Windows XP built-in CD writer to copy the files to CD or DVD.

Or install packet writing software which makes the CD/DVD drive act like a hard drive/floppy.

    http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/saving_files_to_cd.htm explains the options.

Are you wanting to burn to a CD or a DVD? If a CD, put a CD-R (must be blank) or CD-RW (doesn't have to be blank) in the drive and use the built-in Windows XP CD recorder. Search for 'burn CD' in Help and Support for more information.

If it's a DVD (or CD) and you have Nero, probably the easiest Nero application to use is Nero Express. Choose the correct type of recorder (CD or DVD), depending on your CD/DVD drive and media. Then Data -> Data Disc. Then click Add, browse to and select the file(s) and folders you want to burn. Then click Finished, then Next and finally Burn.
  • Thanks Chip,:T will try using Nero later. Have just tried with Xp following instruction to the letter in "Help and Support" still not happening. Same old message "D:/ is not accessable" Is there any reason this would happen. Just wondering if there is something wrong woth th drive

As Chippy asked, what disc are you putting in?

Which drive letter is your DVD/CD writer? You can't write to a DVD/CD ROM (Read Only Memory)
