ESTA - US Point of contact? - Do they check with the staying place to confirm this??

When filling out an ESTA form online, for the visa waiver program,
There are a few hotels to be considered to be stayed at, so now don't know which one.
On the ESTA online form, there is a question about:
US point of contact, then can you just put one of the hotels you are considering staying at? (as aint sure which one)
-Do the ESTA people/ authority check with the hotel that you are staying there?
or they don't check with the people who live at the address, so it doesn't matter if the address you put is not 100% accurate ?
Did you include a different address?
When you entered this, was the address you put different to the address you stayed at, and did the form + arrival in the USA go fine, without any problems due to entering this different address ?

I have never put address I was staying at when I applied for the ESTA , only on the form I filled in when I actually arrived in the USA"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

just wait until you have decided which hotel your staying at.
As long as you don't have any convictions etc the visa will be granted in about half an hour if doing it online. maybe less0 -
No they don't check afaiktravelover0

I've always put a random airport hotel down, yet to stay in oneChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

If they never check it would be pointless asking the question.
Be a shame to get all the way there and get refused entry.0 -
Travel and address information is optional, just leave it blank. An ESTA is valid for 2 years anyway, so you could use it again. They don't check in my experience, so long as you have one, that's it.

The 'help' section on the ESTA website says:
Once an application is complete and submitted with all the required payment information, you can still update any one of the following fields:- Email address
- Address in the U.S.
I've never bothered putting anything and never had any problems ( usually get 2 or 3 visits in on each ESTA) although frequently they will ask where you are staying as a matter of course at immigrationEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -

There is however a guarantee that if you get caught telling porkies on your ESTA by a US border officer you've just greatly increased the chances of you being refused entry
If you don't know simply put UNKNOWN on the form, don't starting making things up :eek:0 -
Oh, I quite agreeThere is however a guarantee that if you get caught telling porkies on your ESTA by a US border officer you've just greatly increased the chances of you being refused entry
You don't need to put accomodation on the form, it's optional and changeable (if you change your mind). If you don't know simply put UNKNOWN on the form, don't starting making things up :eek:Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0
