Does anyone have advice on haggling, specifically with Vodafone for upgrade, and what success did you have?
Thanks in advance

Yes. Run from Vodafone as fast as you can and never look back.0

Thanks for that, but not quite what I was looking for. Been with Vodafone for 16 years ( I'm unbreakable) and first tried to upgrade yesterday but was only offered their standard contract. Not good for 16 years loyalty. Tomorrow will take the option of leaving and see what their reaction is. I don,t particularly like them but their coverage suits my needs0

Sim only they offered UnL min, UnL txt and 3GB data for £10.
Offered too late because they couldnt come close to the £6 deal with Life mobile (EE network) 1500 min, UnL txt and 1GB data, 1 month contract.
If they offered the £10 deal in the first place i would probably have stayed.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Yes, I've heard that before from people who subsequently decide otherwise.0 -
Phone them, select thinking of leaving Vodafone (they answer that group of calls quicker) and give 30-days termination notice. Chances are the retention team will phone you in the next couple of weeks to offer you a new deal. If you don't hear from them, phone them again about 7 days before the termination date is due to ask about new deals, you can always withdraw the termination notice at that point even if you don't get offered new deal. I did this recently, ended up with £5 a month off each of my 3 of my phones with them for the next 12 months. (One number I've had for 20 years with them)0

Thinking about it i must have been with them approx 16 years? Blimey..
Only moving this time because i dont like the Galaxy S5 and S6 after my S2 and S4.. Pattern there but im missing it
Phoned cancellations and couldnd get a good deal so i signed upto Life right after the call. A few days later Voda called with a better offer Unl min & txtx and 3GB data for £10 sim only. That would equal the Life deal of 3000min unl txt and 3GB data. But Life is a 1 month rolling contract not 12m like Voda.
I was going for the cheaper £6 Life deal of 1500min, Unl txt and 1GB data. They couldnt do anything like that which is sill of them really.
I have 3 contracts and now one is leaving them the others are likely to follow and then my parents and sister will likely follow also.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
First attempt with regular agents got me no where. Was doing this on behalf of my wife. Just offered what anyone would be offered. Offered 1000 minutes a month, unlimited texts and 1gb of data for £25 p.m. Probably would use that number of minutes in a year. Spoke to retention, got 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb of date for way under £20.00. It used to be you could say to your provider how many minutes and texts you wanted but these days are long gone. That is my wife set now for the next 24 months and she is happy0

Is it better to phone or will trying via the live chat get the same results?0

go here on a week day http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cancel-account/
Speak to someone on live chat and ask for your pac code. It's best to have an alternative deal from another network you're considering as they will then try and better it. I found them to be very desperate when I wanted to leave so it should be quite easy to get a cheaper contract.0 -
Thanks. That is exactly what I did0
