In case anyone else is getting irritated because their top up doesn't work, you might not have spotted the message you get during checkout on the Carphone Warehouse website:

£10 Top-up. Allow 48hrs from delivery for credit to show on your account.

I only saw it because I've just ordered the Alcatel phone with a £10 top up. Very pleased with the Samsung which came today, as promised, but will be even more pleased when the 02 top up activates!

Oh no - I had no idea PAYG wasn't!! And may be a bundle per month - I have bought a £30 phone and £10 top up for my mum for mothers day - she wanted a simple phone with a camera - She cant pay "10 a month for a bundle - she rarely uses her mobile she is 75!!

PAYG phones from The Carphone Warehouse are Unlocked.

YOu use any Network, pop a Sim Card in and top up with just a fiver.

Why has this been marked as expired? You can still get the Alcatel handset free with a £10 top up.

that's what I'm looking for for my mum. Credit that doesn't expire after 30 days as she is a very low user & doesn't want to have to top up every month.

Buy it by going through TCB or Q, so effectively £5 for £10 worth of calls/texts plus a phone. :T Then next month get a Delight payg sim it doesn't expire at the end of the month

But a £10 top up and get the handset free, but if you go via TCB you get cash back of £5.05, effectively making the cost only £4.95:
