I keep getting this call 08439775092 my phone rings for 2 secs then goes off. Im sure they want me to call them back. Ive googled the number and there ar emany similar comments to this number. I have a Moto G Android phone EE says they cannot block single numbers. So is there any way to block pesky scam numbers? Either with an app or in settings?
Ive googled this issue but the instructions to block numbers all seem to be for American Android phones so im struggling to block it.
Thanks

I used to use a blocking app called Blacklist, but didn't bother reinstalling this when I switched to a new phone with Lollipop.
Instead when this happens to me, I save the number on a Contact called "Ignore". In Contacts, start to edit that Ignore contact. Bring up the menu, and tick the option "All calls to voicemail". Funnily enough the junk callers never seem to want to leave a message:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Did you try tap&hold the number in the calls log?
That's why how blacklisting worked in my CM Android without any apps.0 -
While it is fine, but somewhat futile, to block individual numbers of various types, do not block text messages from five digit mobile shortcodes.
When you block text messages from mobile shortcodes you will still be charged but have no idea what number the message came from and therefore no way to end the subscription. Ending the subscription requires sending STOP to the five-digit shortcode number.0 -

This is what I do.
Add it to contact, edit contact, click the settings, tick the box "All calls to voicemail"

I use a free app called truecall on android. It's fab. It comes up with the name of the company calling most of the time, it also has a database of spam calls so blocks them automatically if they are known to be a problem.
