What would secure you the maximum happiness for a budget of £8k?
3 weeks in Hawaii, no wait I did that last year
What ever it is that your heart desires then you should go for it, you might never get the same chance again.0 -
Well you only get one life, so if it's a lifelong ambition and you have the means, go for it.0

I wouldn't think twice. If you died tomorrow whoever you left it to would have no issues spending it!!0

It would take two years for me to save 8k, but if it was something I really wanted to do I would go for it. IlonaI love skip diving.

We spent slightly more than £8k on a Christmas/New Year holiday to Walt Disney World a few years ago. It was something we'd always wanted to do, and turned out to be our last family holiday - the memories are worth every penny.
I agree with everyone who has said if you can afford it, go for it! And enjoy every minute!
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Is there anything else you'd spend that 8k on? Yes it would keep the house running for 18 months but I assume you can do that without this extra 8k.
We spent 11k on a 'once in a lifetime' 10 day holiday 7 years ago. It was worth every penny. Only problem is we want to go again, so now it might be a 'twice in a lifetime' thing. Though 7 years ago it took 4 months to save that amount, now it would take us nearer 34 months! I do think about what I could buy now with that 11k if we hadn't gone away, but nothing would make me as happy as that trip did.
So do it!0 -
For me it would have to be the dream trip to the Antarctic and would be worth every single penny. Life isn't a rehearsal pet, live it while you can, you don't usually get second chances!0

As someone who has been fortunate enough to have had several "holidays of a lifetime", i can honestly say i haven't regretted a single penny they've cost us.
I have regretted lots of purchases of "stuff" however.....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Do it!!!
