The cut off point is the payment date on the statement. That's the point of the payment date.
How would you like to be paid your wages anytime your boss felt like it.The more I live, the more I learn.

it's not the case of not getting my act together but like you say in understanding the rules I checked in the terms and conditions and it does not say about payments just that they have to be in prior to the due date..... so I have done due diligence by reading the terms and conditions.just not in understanding the workings of the office.0

and yet they can still accept payments after the due date and prior to the statement date.....sounds illogical.0

No bank acts like that though and they never have so you need to rethink your thinking.
I had a late payment a few years ago and got the payment refunded never showed on my credit file but mine was the banks fault and not my own. May be worth asking if they are reporting the late payment to the CRAs ....... One late payment won't make much of a difference anyway but if you don't make sure you have paid at least the minimum by the 21st then you will have problems.0 -

No, the due payment date IS the fixed point.
Your just being pedantic.
Plus if anybody wants to pay me money off their owed account I will gladly take their money. The more I live, the more I learn.

exactly robin the due date is the fixed date that your money has to be in for that statement. To avoid late payment charges etc.Anything thereafter should be the next statement. But if that is the case then yes I will have to re-think even my wife who has been in credit control both here and america thinks the same.0

The 'due' date is usually 5 or 7 days before the new statements get compiled. In your case with 'due' on the 24th, your statement date is the 1st of next month (or thereabouts).
All transactions properly booked and in place before the statement gets compiled (be they purchases or credits), will appear in the new, next month's statement which gets issued on the 1st. The 'due' date is not the cut-off date, the statement date (or maybe the day before) is the cut-off.0 -
just to reply bengal-stripe (and thanks) the due date for the december statement was 21st the statement date was 26th I sent a payment (extra payment on the 23rd which they credited to the december statement but I was assuming that because it was after the due date it would be put onto the next jan statement which it was not) thus the jan due date was not met.......0
