Flight been changed from Newcastle to manchester

Booked in October 2015, confirmation says flights from Newcastle to Egypt in a package holiday. Logged in to account today to update passport details to see the flight details are now Manchester which is a 3hr drive away.

We had no notification at all of this and don't want to fly from Manchester, where do we stand as still want the holiday.

Travelling in May

Thanks in advance

    Thomas cook,

Apparently flight got changed today and we will receive a letter....what a coincidence it the same day we log on to enter passport details.

No longer doing flights from Newcastle and its in terms and conditions when booking.

When flights get delayed 3+ hours you can get compensation. For me a 3hr drive to other side of country and having to pay petrol and parking is surely worth compensation
  • when is your flight?

compensation for delays/changes only applies if the change is made within 14 days of the flight, as you do not travel till May you would not qualify for any compensation
I would expect an airport change to be classed as significant to be able to cancel...have you been given that option?

Also check if your original flight or similar is still operational. If it is they really shouldn't be changing it. If flight no longer operates, its a tough one.

Demand for Egypt is down 88% according to statistics out today so the cancellation is hardly surprising and unless you are going to Hurghada, which I don't think is served by TC or Luxor, then your flight to Sharm may not operate at all at the end of the day. This major change might be a good time to think whether you want to go to Egypt at all
