Wish me luck, please! I have signed up for Dechox, which means no chocolate at all for March. I may need a lot of encouragement. :)

    Good luck!

Mind you, no point me doing it, as I don't really like chocolate!

A Decheese would be extremely difficult, though.

We'll be here to encourage you, GDB.

What are your reasons for doing it?

I eat far too much chocolate, so it's high time I went cold turkey, so to speak. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I thought of doing it, until I realised yesterday evening that I had bought DS2 a chocolate birthday cake!

    Good luck!

Dechox ... this is marketing and social media at its worst.
    :)

I am eating a LOT more sweeties than I ever used to aged 20-45 or so... I am aware of that, but choosing to do nothing about my consumption until I perceive my greed as a problem (which I don't).

    :)

I think you're pretty successful at keeping your figure despite the sweeties. I feel that I could lose some weight! I'm also aware that the present situation is not good for my health.

Ads can be ignored, fast-forwarded through, etc. - or avoided by not watching commercial channels ;)

Cold calls are a little harder to avoid, although BT customers may find that BT automatically blocks them - those that do get through to me will get the usual terse reply that I reserve for such scum ;)

    .

People cold-calling me about PPI are always completely at a loss when I tell them that I did indeed have PPI.....and that I got ill, and claimed on it, and was extremely glad I had it! (Which is quite true.)
They tend to say "Oh," and hang up :D

michaels How are you? The reason I ask is that I seem to have hay fever already....

ETA Lydia We were hopeful DGS would get a place there as it's his nearest one, but they use a "fair banding" test, and of course "his" band might have been filled by boys who lived even nearer. It's near enough for him to cycle or even walk to. His second choice is a 45 minute bus ride away, so this will be better for him and the school gets very good results for a non-selective. Some of the bullies from his old primary school will probably end up there too, but so will some of his friends, and the school seems to come down like a ton of bricks on bullying :T

Dechox? I don't think I could do it, and besides, I bought a big bar of Galaxy yesterday and have some Lindt 70% in the fridge. Good luck GDB!

I still haven't checked to see if I've ever had it. :(
Long story, but basically, it's complicated.

Oh well, I've got two and a half years to do it!
Should be enough time! :D

Edit..... is saying "basically it's complicated" an oxymoron? :D

I did, once, get one of them really excited when I told them that I had had an "enormous sum" of PPI after a credit card company automatically added it when I registered my new card

Eventually I got bored with them and let on that the "enormous sum" was all of 10p, and I'd been refunded the following month after complaining when I saw it on my credit card statement.
