Extraordinarily nice weather for October?
Despite the easterly flow and hence the west being more favouvered, even here in the East we are already at 88% of the expected solar generation despite there being one third of the month still to go.I think....0 -

Aw Pyxis, sorry to hear that! Sending get-well wishes.
We are away at a "family event" tomorrow and Sunday so will be back some time on Monday to hear what you've all been up to0 -
Reportedly they don't do deals like that (though Sky & Virgin supposedly do), what you can do is move to your current supplier's cheapest tariff at the click of a button or one phone call.
Some of the suppliers have got a bit sneaky lately, and will charge you an exit fee to move from one tariff to another.*groan*
Giant Schnauzer actually.
How's the pup?!...call an election...
It's much harder to call an election now, isn't it? Can't just decide but you need a motion of no confidence or similar.
I've got a week off. Must try to do something more productive than last time, with weeds on the allotment and garden alike!0 -
There are plenty of other places for discussing politics .
I reckon the odd topical event or news item are fair game in the NP threads so long as it's done, well, nicely....:)
If you want to comment about something in the news that's interesting or unexpected and without denigrating others views that should be fine - if you want to argue about it there are other threads for that?
From memory that's the way it's most often been handled previously in the threads all the way back to NP1 but happy to go along with the NP views really.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Despite the easterly flow .
I've been watching that set-up all week thinking why oh why can't it be in the middle of January.... A right snow dump we'd have had then.:D“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Yep, it is the second unstable easterly outbreak this month, the sort of synoptics they would have been going absolutely mental over on netweather.tv if it happened in Jan/Feb and no doubt they are probably all cussing their luck right now. Of course due to the UKs position the perfect winter weather patterns tend to only come along in spring and autumn....I think....0 -
I'm not fussed what we discuss here as long as it remains nice.
In other news, youngest's first draft of his personal statement was dire, it read like a question and answer leaflet and was way way way too long. He is now accepting advice from me.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Do what you can. This is one of the most crucial transition points in the between secondary and tertiary/higher education. There's a need for a past-present-future narrative with a load of sign-posting statements at the start of the many short paragraphs you need to use.
