Horrible news O&H, sending my best wishes xxWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Oh dear. I'm not sure what to say, oldandhappy, other than to say that I'm sorry and to send a virtual hug.
What's the plan now?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sorry to hear you've got bad news - and a further wait to discover what sort of bad.
What people want is "instant diagnosis/route to alleviate or fix" - I bet a lot of the delays in the NHS are a huge part of the cost.
Imagine a time when you can go in and have the scan, then pop back an hour later to get the result delivered and the "forward plan" and, if anything else is required to then trot along for that process!
NP thoughts will be with you and yours.0 -
I wrote a big post, but it disappeared in an error code. Here's the gist:
Milk and more provide a good service as there's no minimum order and no delivery charge. That's one way to get some perishables into your house if you've low volume needs. You pay a bit more per item, but no minimum and no delivery charge means it can work out OK if all you're after is a pint of milk and a loaf of bread.... they do more products, but you have to balance out what you need -v- what you can add to your next supermarket delivery and simply go without until then.
And, of course, the M&M ranges aren't discount brands. e.g. a "proper loaf" from them would cost, say, £1, whereas L*dl sell loaves for 36p.
But they can "fill a gap" when you're simply never going to spend much as you don't need much food and can rarely reach the minimum order of supermarkets.0 -
Sorry to hear your news Dianne. Yes, really rotten news, O&H
Let's hope that when she gets more info, that something effective can be done, and soon.
Is it related to the breast cancer, or is it a separate issue?
Pastures, am intrigued as to why you bought 15eggs and not 6. I assume they're dearer per egg to buy them in sixes, but if it means you'd eat them without having to get sick of them it might be worth it.
One of the reasons I get an organic veg box (et al) delivered is that it forces me to cook and eat vegetables. Don't get me wrong, I love veg, but find the faff of preparing them tedious. Plus, although I could check and see what's coming in the box, I tend to just wait and see what comes, so it's an interesting surprise! Left to myself, I probably wouldn't make a conscious decision to buy much of what comes, but it forces me to do something with what does come. Takes all the decision-making out of the exercise!.
Because it's not especially cheap, I have to eat it and not let it become expensive compost, so it's good for me!
I tend to just chop it all up and stick it in a stir-fry. Sometimes I'll stirfry a large batch and then keep a portion or two for another time or to use as a base for a pasta sauce, or to have with rice or noodles.or even a soup. The other day I had some chicken thighs, so I kept the bones and skin, simmered that for three hours, remembered NOT to strain it into the sink (), reduced it, cooled it and skimmed off the fat, and used it as stock with some of a stirfry to whizz up a tasty and nutritious soup. Yum!
I don't know why, but I loathe washing veg. Lumpy things like carrots and courgettes aren't too bad, but I get watercress, which is a right fad to wash, as all the little leaves float about and stick to your fingers. Hate scrubbing potatoes too, but have to as I always leave the skins on.
Anyway, although the organic stuff isn't cheap, it does mean I don't have to go to the supermarket nearly as often, which means I spend less, as I'm terrible for just getting what I fancy at the time, although I do take a list!
I stock up on things like loo rolls, and tissues, when my favourites are cheaper, as I have a pathological fear of running out! :rotfl: Loo-rolls and green tea bags I usually have coming out of my ears!
What a picture! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Interesting what you say about veg selection Pyxis. I'm with Pastures, I tend to buy frozen veg as I find it easier. However I do like browsing the Super 6 at Aldi for when they have something a bit diffferent. Because they are cheap, I'm not against giving something different a try. For example, among this week's Super Six is mangetout, which I'd never normally buy but quite like. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? We use to have deliveries of heavy food stuffs when living in Bexhill on Sea because our driveway was way down from the front door and we still do here in France...normally Tescos every other month via another company....which delivers nearby here every two weeks if needed....0

Well! Talking of trying different foodstuffs, I've just had some 'spaghetti' made from edamame beans!
Now, I really like edamame beans, so when I saw this, I thought I'd give it a try, and it's really rather nice! More nutritious than spaghetti, as well
There was also some made from black beans, but I haven't tried that yet.
I assume they're made for people who can't eat wheat in any form, although they were next to the ordinary Spag.
They're thinner than ordinary Spag, but when cooked, they are the same thickness.
I'll see if I can find an illustration..........(I just lurve spiders!)
