To be honest, I still can't get my head around the fact that we are planning all of this, the prognosis for him was that he wouldn't even be able to go to a main stream school let alone sit GCSEs, A levels or a degree...that was just not on the cards according to those supposedly in the know! Ok, it hasn't been the smoothest of rides but by goodness he is a stubborn and determined young man.[/QUOTE]

Just wanted to say :T:T:T. It's amazing what determination and persisstance can achieve.

We came back last Monday, 8 hours time difference, and last night was the first time I fell asleep not far off the normal time. Hopefully tomorrow will be back to (what passes for) normal. Unfortunately, even when dog-tired, I have never been able to sleep beyond 7.30am so can't catch up that way.

I try to work forwards rather than back, which at the moment is meaning I can be awake for up to 40 hours, before sleeping for about 12.

I've just made 2 cups of coffee, put them down somewhere, and can't find them, so something is obviously trying to tell me I'm tired.

Thanks. Holding out hope! I'm quite tired now.

I can't see me getting to 5am from here, fingers crossed.

I tried forwards twice. Managed 2 hours and 4 hours sleep!

Hmm - won a car on ebay. Suggested to the seller that as it is due an oil change I pay for a service and assuming no faults found we go ahead at agreed price. He doesn't want to and wants to relist instead. This is making me suspicious, what does he have to lose, either I buy at the agreed price or he gets a free service. NPs opinion?

Does it have a service history that you can ask to view? There may be some advisories. Alternatively, he may think you are the one stalling and with cold feet, hence the tactic. If the latter, you may just need to communicate your position better. But which is it? Has it been regularly serviced, for starters?

I've not used ebay for anything this big, but I'd be suspicious with the way the seller's prevaricating. Actually I don't know anybody who uses ebay who's got good stories to tell about car buying.

Mine wasn't too bad, £461 and lasted 6 years and many thousands of miles. Ok, there was some painful bills but in the grand scale of things, nothing really out of the ordinary and only made painful because I just didn't have the money!

Luckily I was able to view and test drive it before putting a bid in as it was only around the corner (quite literally)....even right at the end of owning it I had people waving at the car because they recognised it from the previous owner, quite funny seeing the look of confusion on their faces at someone different driving it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    We can't know, can we?

Either he thinks you're wasting his time or there's a problem with it. Who knows.

We sold my big MINI on Autotrader before we went away. I said I wouldn't the last time we sold a car, but it really isn't worth it. It's just hassle. I sent mine for major service before I sold it though because it had a service package.

Doozer didn't take an offer from someone just because he thought they were weird. He may well have turned down your offer too!
