Sorry to post so much...
I never go to the cinema, but I've been twice this week. Both times to beautiful restored Art Deco cinemas.
On Saturday saw Beauty and the Beast (lovely film) at the Odyssey in michaelsville; then tonight went to see Hidden Figures at the Rex in Berkhamsted. I can highly recommend both the cinemas and the films.
Here's pics of the Rex:

We went to BATB with the kids last week but had to go to the vue to the S as we had free tickets (6 free tickets a year for holding a lloyds bank accoutn that also pays 3% on your savings). Never been to the oddessy, too pricey.I think....0

Something about this made me think of nubile, bare footed virgins wearing white linen long flowing dresses, gathering them in their woven baskets.
Maybe it's just me.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Hand-woven from gold threads, please
Made from hand-mined ancient Inca gold, stored in a "Third Eye Pyramid" for no less than 60 days, which the ancients decreed was a magical number for long life, prosperity and happiness.
The gold is then hand spun and hand woven by virgins, with large almond shaped eyes ... sitting barefoot alongside a mountain stream, where they live their lives praying to ancient gods.0 -
Birmingham has bars.
It has the compulsory Weatherspoons which is about all you need to know when flying with a group. It has a Champagne bar and an All Bar One when you're travelling as a couple
All airports blur into one for me but it's decent enough to kill time in with several shops as well as a defent sized duty free thingy. There's also a tiny little duty free shop after you get off the plane which is good for cheaper champagne for taking home.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Try a matinee michaels. The top price for tickets in the circle is £5, so very competitive. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? What a very interesting arrangement of seats at the Berkhamsted one! So innovative!
I absolutely a-dore Art Deco. It always makes me sad that if it weren't for the war, we'd have had loads more Art Deco stuff.(I just lurve spiders!)

A big problem with Art Deco is that we fell out of love with it before it was valued, so it got bulldozed to make room for something else before being listed. That was due to be the fate of the Odyssey for many years, saving it was not straightforward. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
