I'm also a bit concerned about why it fell out, especially if you can't see that one of the claws has bent out of place. Even if one claw had bent, the other 3 should still have held it in.
The workmanship in the setting might be at fault. How long have you had the ring? It might be under guarantee?PasturesNew wrote: »Yeah, of course .... gotta google that now, never heard of mica chips.

You poor thing! It would be terrifying at any age, let alone that young!
Just goes to show how useful mobiles are, now.

You must have been in a right state when they got home.
I hope they gave you some extra 'fright' money!(I just lurve spiders!)

If you can't tell cubic zirconia from diamond, why not wear cubic zirconia? That's assuming it's much cheaper.
Just checked, and it's much, much, much cheaper. So, put your diamonds in the safe, and walk around with a piece of cubic zirconia on.
Only a man could say that! The original jeweller is probably the best bet.

The real danger with 4 clawed rings is that one claw only needs to be damaged and the diamond can slip out. With six claws it would take 2 adjacent claws to get damaged.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I suppose the other thing about having a diamond as opposed to anything else is that it would never get scratched.
Given that an engagement ring could be worn day in, day out over anything from 30-60 years, (optimistically!), doing all sorts of activities, I suppose that quality makes it very attractive as a symbol of enduring love etc.
I know cubic zirconia is hard, but a diamond can be four times harder!(I just lurve spiders!)

6 claws. Although they're small, it does seem like 2 are missing the wrap-over, have broken and are shiny and rough. The more I think about it, the more I think it ripped off with my top, though one can only guess where the heck it's gone to.
Anyhow, I have done the bulk of mourning for it and am now looking forward to a new one. A friend has suggested we should have an engagement party.
If it turns up, I'll have to have a new piece made for itEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We have solved the problem of how to get absolutely the last drop out of a toothpaste tube. What you need to do is let it fall out of your pocket and let your wife drive the car over it.
It's amazing how far it goes and how much area it covers. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
