Not everyone has the interest or ability to claim themselves and in those circumstances a claim by a company is better than not bothering. The OP didn't ask to be reprimanded for using a company, they asked for advice about which one, should they choose to.

It is quicker to make a complaint to the bank/card provider than it is to deal with a claims company.

it has just been published that Claims companies have a lower success rate on complaints than those making personal complaints. This has been known for a while but its the first time its been made official. This is often because many claims companies use similar templates to what you used to get on the web (and template letters typically had lower success rates). Plus claims companies will put in complaints where no complaint exists.

In this case, the OP has already tried and failed. You dont get multiple attempts. The bank/card provider will just refer a further complaint from a CMC back to the original complaint outcome. It is also possible that the CMC will charge the OP for wasting their time.
