I would like to travel from Lancaster -> Deauville frequently to see family. The aim would be to try to get a full weekend there, roughly every month, without taking time off work. There's some decent overnight ferry crossings from Portsmouth to Le Havre and Caen with Brittany Ferries.
That would put you very close to Deauville

Their 'Club Voyage' memberships gives good discounts too

Probably have to drive to Portsmouth though

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
