Leaving BT within 12 months

Hi,
We have a BT contract that was set up over 24 months ago, it is in the name of someone who left 14 months ago but we have been managing it by adding another name to the account and changing the direct debit.
The second person is now moving out and BT have offered to cancel the current contract and set up a new contract in my name with a better deal. The problem is that there is no body in the house who is willing to sign up for 12 months. There is a possibility that we all may leave the country within 12 months. Even if I find a new tenant who is willing to take on the contract, BT have said I would personally have to pay the full 12 months and would not be able to transfer the account to the new tenant's name.
The service is been really poor and the customer service was awful.
Does anyone know how to switch to a provider that will allow us to change the contract name within 12 months? I saw some providers with a 28 day rolling contract but they didn't have good deals.
Thanks

You can use plusnet (Its BT without the contracts)0

Plusnet has minimum term contracts, just as BT does.
Obviously you pay more on a 30 day deal, as the supplier incurs all the upfront costs with the possibility that you might leave after just 30 days.
A new person requires a new account, hence a new minimum term.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yep, not likely you can get a contract that you can simply transfer to someone else when you move out (it'd then be a new contract), if you know you aren't going to be there for 12 months, you'd either need to accept a possibly hefty penalty for ending the contract early, or just sensibly accept you'll need to pay a little more for the freedom of monthly contracts.
I know Zen does them and if you phone up Plusnet they apparently should be able to offer you monthly non-contract deals. You just have to accept it'll be more expensive than a 12 or 18 month contract, and that you might have to pay an activation fee.0
