    I agree. A formal written complaint may prove successful.
  • I opened the account yesterday before 4pm and it did not require ID; it opened instantly. A few months ago I opened another account with a different bank and that did require ID. Since then I have re-registered on the electoral register at my new address. Perhaps being in full time education increases the likeliness of being registered at two different addresses, hence why they automatically ask for proof of ID?
