Ripped Off By NPC Car Parks

I really didn't know which section to post this in. If someone can suggest a better one let me know.

Anyway, I am being charged 26.00 to exit an NPC car park, evening rate is 5pm onwards - £4.00.

I arrived at 16:39 for a pre theatre meal and show. I was utterly gutted to be charged 26.00 when I arrived back.

The most I expected to pay was £4.50 for the 1 hour rate 4-5 and then £4.00 for the time after 5.

It is disgusting that they have charged me 22.00 for 21 minutes and as you can imagine I am getting nowhere with their customer service.

How should I resolve this?

I think Motoring board is a better place.

However, I think you have to explain better than just 'disgusting' why you expected to pay less than they charged you.

With very little to go on I might take a guess that the evening rate is only applicable for people who enter the car park after 17:00.

I am return at around 10 pm expecting to be charged hourly rate of £4.50 for the 21 minutes and then £4.00 for everything after 5. So £8.50.

But I was charged 26.00 and am getting nowhere trying to fight this extortionate cost for the sake of 21 minutes.

that's right (I know this now) but I didn't at the time.

I feel it is totally unjust to charge £26.00 for eg 5 hours 21 minutes but £4.00 for 5 hours.

So is the 'evening'/'night' rate hourly or just £4 until the morning?
Does this not deserve an explanation, especially on the current accounts board?

I believe if you arrive after 5 it is 4.00 until midnight.

3 to 4 hours £18.00
4 to 24 hours £21.00

Nothing about evening/night rate.

If you stayed more than 4 hours you pay £26.

Well, it's still not clear whether £4.00 is per hour or not. 'Rate' sounds like 'per hour' to me.
