I have recently upgraded from an iPhone to a Galaxy S6.
I have taken my photos off my old phone and put them in the picture folder on my new phone. But when it sorts them into date order it puts them all as todays date.
I have made sure all information of when they were taken is correct but it stores them in date order as date modified, which as they are being moved the date modified is todays date.
I have used the program “Batch Utility Rename” which works fine when the photos are in a folder on my PC but it can’t access the photos when they are in the folder on my phone.
Has anyone got a work round for this or know how I sort this out.

From what you say ... I'd do the rename on the PC and copy them back to the phone again. May take a little time but you'll only have to do it once.

I'd create a new folder for them on the phone and it will then appear as a new album in the gallery.

That is what I have done.

Line all information up when the folder is on the PC but when I copy it to the phone the modified date changes and this appears to be the order the photos are displayed in.

I would like if possible something like batch utility rename that will allow me to change the date modified to match date photo was taken. But I will need to be able to do this from the folder on the phone.

Is it possible???

Try Irfanview or ReNamer. Both very powerful with naming options.
