Why ask on here? Surely Barclays are the ones to ask, but I'm guessing it's to cut the cost to Barclays.
If you are that worried about your third PC you can pay £6.99 and get protection for up to 5 machines. Still a bargain and hardly going to send your finances to the wall.

I will be asking Barclays tomorrow but I just thought someone on here might have the answer.

Why are they now only quoting 2 then?
Because they are a bank, why do they lower interest rates on savings accounts when the B of E rate has not gone lower, because they are a bank. The contract for the "Free" antivirus is with you and Kaspersky anyhow.

I have just spoken to Barclays and they say it is just a measly 2 computers it covers - they say it is not barclays fault it is Kaspersky.

    I am not convinced

Maybe a time to look for another bank.

Would kaspersky know if it was on a third computer and what would they do about it if they did?

I use Kaspersky, I also bank with Barclays but I don't do Internet banking so I buy my own Kaspersky. For how much it costs, I wouldn't have thought it was worth changing banks,

Yes, they would, when you try to register or go through the installation or update process. I have AV from another provider that gives me protection on up to 3 machines and, when I log in to my account, I can see (and so can the provider) all 3 machines. When I bought a new PC, I was easily able to remove the "licence" from an old one and add the new one.

I changed from Barclays for other reasons!

But it is blatantly changing the rules that have been in place for many years.

Of course they'll know. If you install it on a 3rd device then the licence key will not be activated. It'll work for the 30 day trial period and then won't update after that.

There is no 'rule' and no guarantee that the offer will continue in future years . The contract they have negotiated for this year covers only two devices not three.
