Is EE Double Counting data

Look at the eecommunity boards, it's full of people using expressions like data robbery, vampiric isp, and people who ask why they can't get an email address for tech support so they can send them proof of the divergence between the two tallies. In 2014 ee acknowledged the problem on the board, as a rep said it's dealt with.

I don't use ee so don't have personal experience. If it were me, I'd turn off data for a week, run a tracking app and then compare. Look at the reviews on the AppStore for your device.

If the official app shows data consumption in that period, the matter should be brought to attention of OFCOM. You may also consider small claims court for the cost of the sim contract.

EE regularly claim I use almost all my 10GB allowance. But it jumps from 3GB to 9.3GB a few days before my allowance end point.

So for every month it looks like I'm almost reaching the limit even though their own data and my own phone confirms I only use about 3GB.

In the last 4 months they claim I only had 700MB left on the 26th of each month. At the moment I've got 7.5GB left. I guarantee in the next few days 7GB will suddenly get used up.

So basically EE fabricate the data usage.

UPDATE:
I've just checked the EE website and my phone. They both agree that I have used 2.5GB this month. On the 27th the EE website will get "creative" with the numbers. They need to sort this because they are using these numbers to mis-sell data plans. If you are listening EE you need to sort it now because when you get caught we are all coming back for compensation.

And as predicted my usage last cycle was apparently 7.4GB.

So after the first 23 days I used 2.5GB.
In the following 5 days I suddenly magically used another 4.9GB.

This always happens towards the end of my allowance cycle.

The EE numbers are completely wrong.
