Why not get a third quote, it would guide you to seeing which is accurate. My guess would be a decimal error on the £14000 quote.

I have had a good read through, and I think I know what the difference is- one quote of for a temp scafold for the job in hand (which is what I want,) the other likes like a sort of permenant thing. I'm not sure why anyone would want that? Could be, as mentioned a misplaced decimal point or simply a rip-off / "its on the insurance" type thing.

May I kindly suggest that maybe if "the other [half] likes like a sort of permanent thing" then it explains why there are a few extra decimal points on the price
