static ip for home

Is there any providersthat give you static ip with home broadband? I no talktalk won't but don't want business tariff

  • There are plenty, mainly more technical and more expensive ISPs.

    aa.net.uk give you a static ipv4 and a /48 ipv6.

    I think some plusnet tariff also offer static ip.

    It might be an idea to say why you want it, a static IP can be a bad thing as it allows you to be tracked.

    There may be an alternative such as DynDNS that does the same thing.

    If you want to host a website you are much better to get a proper hosting solution, not sure if allowed to post here but I can refer one that charges less than £25 for first year for unlimited everything.

    I always advise to never use anything from an ISP, not email, not hosting nor even phone line now (I use VoIP and mobile).
