Is there a limit to how much security checks credit card companies can make you do?

As soon as they get OTT on fraud checks I jump ship on spending with said bank.

This is why I love Nationwide. No Verified by Visa for me.

I've had loads of transactions declined with Halifax before! I don't tend to use my credit cards that often for purchases, so when I do they like to decline the transactions! One was for £100 deposit for a holiday. They didn't even phone me until a couple days later to ask me whether it was a genuine transaction or not. I entered all the extra security questions correctly, so I don't see why they rejected my card at that point! I don't mind having to provide security details more than once if need be, but to decline a transaction after all the details were entered correctly is a bit silly.
