A Death By Eight Million Cuts

Why, do you think I`m lying?
A Coroners Court appearance and numerous disciplinary hearings as the accused or as a witness. The consequences of some of those could have involved dismissal and/or a jail sentence. As I said the stakes can be very high.
no, I don't think you are lying
but I am interested in situations where unions are 'necessary' of ordinary people.
Without a context I'm not sure whether many ordinary people need to attend a Coroners court as part of their business life or are involved in situation where a fail sentence is possible.0 -

It doesn't matter whether you think unions are 'relevant' or 'neccessary' or whatever. Seven million people seem to have made the decision to join one, and presumably have done so because they see a value in so doing.
Seven million is quite a lot of people.:)0 -

I did say I was only speaking for myself and am very ordinary. Incidentally there are circa 25K other people who specifically do what I do as a job. Perhaps its a case of too many people only referencing their own working experiences when talking about the usefulness of Unions.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

It does matter whether you think unions as relevant
but it would seem that about 20 million don't see unions as relevant enough to join
20 million is quite a lot of people0 -

World of difference though between someone never needing the backing of a Union and then extrapolating that somehow there is no need for them. That would be stupid.
indeed so
just as it would be stupid to say there was no other method of achieving the same ends of a (relatively ) few people.0 -

One: there are 41 million people of working age in the UK, and 41 less 7 is 34 not 20.
Two: by your argument, every organisation in the UK would not be relevant. Every political party, the Consumers's Association, the National Trust, the Save Trumpton Campaign, all of these are not relevant because most people are not members.0 -

No, that is not MY argument, it is YOURS
unions are not essential. however if people wish to join them then that's ok
it is however approriate to have some rules and regulations about there behaviour in the political field.0 -
No, that is not MY argument, it is YOURS....
No, it isn't. I have never said that the unions were not relevant.
And 41 minus 7 is still 34 and not 20.:)...unions are not essential.
No one ever said they were. You are the first and only person to use the word 'essential' on this thread..... however if people wish to join them then that's ok...
Great. I'm glad we got there in the end..... it is however approriate to have some rules and regulations about there behaviour in the political field.
We do.
Do you not like the rules that we have? Do you want some different ones or what?0
