Firstly does your landlady accept rent payments by credit card?
Secondly, I highly doubt you would find a credit card, assuming average rent of £1k per month, with a circa £15k limit off the bat - unless of course you had an immaculate credit history, no debts and a high earner etc.
Thirdly, I'm pretty sure the frequent flyer cards don't offer the money transfer service or even a 0% feature on purchases, I could be wrong do your own research. Not to mention that a lot of the airline cards charge an annual fee.
Have a read of the link below, what you are after is a money transfer card:

I'm not sure average rent is 1k, I rent a 5 bedroom cottage with land and outbuildings in a gorgeous part of the world for £1100 and my previous 4 bedroom detached house with 3 reception rooms in a not so lovely part of the world but still quite nice (ish) was £800 a month. I guess if you are considering some people pay tens of thousands a month, add it all up and take the middle it could be a thousand but many people pay a few hundred a month.
Hat aside, if you can get a card with the riht limit could you pay your landlady via PayPal? That could work, though not sure you will get to fly to the Bahamas on it!0 -
Hi Amanda,
what is the benefit of you paying it a year up front? I can see plenty of drawbacks such as a dramatic change in circumstances forcing a move etc you are then in your LL hands, Death (hopefully not ;-) etc etc.
Also its unclear if you have the cash to pay this off straight away? If not paying your rent by CC could be a hugely expensive way to do it.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
