Nevertheless the OP has taken what you posted twice as good advice!

It's poor advice and for the sake of the OP and others finding this thread after a search it would be helpful if you edited/deleted your misinformation.

What's to prevent someone having an accident with no one else involved, but falsely claiming there was a third party that caused the damage and drove off?
The MIB won't pay out for property damage unless either the car/driver involved can be identified, OR it's accompanied by serious injury (defined as a hospital stay of at least 4 days). Precisely to avoid the situation where someone damages their own car, then claims that the damage was caused by a mystery vehicle while he left it parked.

However they'll pay out for personal injury regardless of whether the other vehicle is identified or not, assuming the other aspects of the claim stack up. Very few people are going to deliberately injure themselves just to claim compo for a fake car accident (dodgy whiplash claims not withstanding), and if they do their chances of getting caught are higher as the police will take much more of an interest in (alleged) hit and runs involving injury. If a hit and run driver left you permanently disabled and unable to work you'd probably be rather glad of the untraced drivers agreement.

    Hi All,

I am a little confused now when I rang my insurance company just to report it they asked me if I wanted to claim and they said they would get someone to ring me which they did within ten minutes diamondlaw solicitors also sent me a document about claiming it says Claim against : Unknown claim for personal Injury & Uninsured losers... A very long document saying about hourly rate and % of what they get also my right to cancel within 14 days apart from that it's pages of terms and conditions... I am not very knowledgable about anything to do with this so could you advise me into what your opinion is.... Thanks
