I agree. The description of the emergency stop wasn't in accordance with my automatic reactions on the few occasions when I've had to do manoeuvre ...(. both feet on the brake pedal and hand on the horn?).I wonder if it has occurred to you that the woman stopped dead in front of you because you blew the horn long and loud.
I'm not surprised that she stopped.
I think that perhaps you blew the horn in retribution to tell her off.
I feel that if you had not blown your horn the other car would have moved on and the whole thing would have been less dramatic.0

You have either been very unlucky (which I doubt) or you need to be more aware of potential hazards and drive defensively.
I couldn't have been more aware of potential hazards if I tried - that is what they teach you in the IAM! 3 in 34 years, I'd call that a pretty good record. First one was an old boy who said " I didn't see you when I looked" - he didn't look a second time, I had a car to my right so where was I supposed to go? Second said an oncoming car flashed him out - I was looking directly at oncoming car, it didn't flash, the road was wet so my stopping distance even at 25 mph was rather longer than normal and I had a 4 inch kerb to my left - where was I supposed to go? (other driver was drunk to the point of slurring both times I spoke to him on the phone) and the third one was a lorry driver who couldn't manage to stay in one lane, drifted into mine and pushed me on 2 wheels up against and along the kerb. Again, where was I supposed to go?0

The correct use of the horn is to warn others of your approach. I sounded my horn before she started to pull out in front of me but being stupid she took no notice and continued the manoeuvre. Then she stopped.0

Thanks to the helpful posters. I'm sorry, I never noticed the sticky, I don't do forums all that often and I'm usually replying, not asking.0

Is it possible to fit a dash cam on top of dashboard rather than near rear view mirror? Don't fancy running a long cable from top of windscreen.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

I have a Blackvue cam, pretty good and already paid for itself after someone claimed I slammed my door onto a car next to me, as it has a G Shock Sensor 0 0
