United Airlines fees

Options
Cab anyone help me.
I have had to change flights on United Airlines.
They said after a lot of discussion with United agent that they would not charge the £130 per person fee.
When I phoned them back to confirm the dates United say that there was no notes of the original telephone conversation and the reason I was asking them to change was not good enough for them to waive the fee, even although an agent had already oked this..
I have complained but not had word back other than a stalling email.
Has anyone had an issue and a resolution for me?

Have you asked them to listen to the recording for the other call?

If it doesn't exist then your only options are to pay the fee or keep calling hoping you can convince another operator to waive the fee. Don't mention when you call back that you'd previously had it approved then denied - though this probably won't work if there are notes on your file stating you've previously asked and been denied.

Is the reason for needing to change maybe covered by your travel insurance?
There are very few reasons where an airline would deviate from the fare rules as otherwise, few people would buy the more expensive/more flexible tickets
  • I have asked them to do that on the complaint I emailed them , that might be the delay and I have phoned back and asked them if there was any notes but funnily enough the only notes were the ones from the person who refused me.
  • I am afraid not, its because my daughter got a Uni interview and she is one of the passengers going, not covered by insurance.

Ah, well no airline would normally accept that as a valid reason so I can see why none of the agents want to help you! You'll just have to hope they can find the phone call where you're promised a fee waiver. Good luck.
