No Boarding Pass... Now what...

Options
:undecided:undecided - Ok this is the first time l've used a forum, so please be gentle....:)
I am trying to make a claim through Thomas Cook for a delay on a return flight from Tunisia to Gatwick. The return plane was grounded and we had to wait for another plane to be sent over to bring us home. This was in Aug 2010. We were delayed by 5hrs, 20 mins. I have initiated the claim through Resolver and finally had a response from Thomas Cook. They are asking for copies of the 4 boarding passes, sales invoice of the holiday and airline tickets.... I have none of this, l just going through my card statements to see if l have the payment records but have no other evidence. Is it over for me now? Please help and point me in the right direction......

And be careful. If this was in August 2010, you are getting close to the limitation date of 6 years. To succeed in Court you MUST commence proceedings within 6 years of the flight. Making a claim by letter, e-mail or carrier pigeon isn't enough even if they string you along. If you haven't received a settlement by, say, the end of June, issue proceedings. Don't leave it to the very last minute.

I couldn't agree more. Don't get into a ping pong match with them. As above read Vaubans guide and remember the clock is ticking.
  • Yes a bit close to the time limit - l didn't bother before as l was told that l would not be able to claim in view of Tunisia not being in Europe. Since finding out the facts, this has spurned me on to claim. Thanks for the info

Strange. I didn't know Tunisia was in Europe either. There are some clever people on this site:)

It doesn't need to be, if the airline is a European airline that is sufficient.

I think Legal Magpie was as the saying goes speaking with "Tongue in cheek". We all know Tunisia is north west of Alaska just off the coast of North Korea.
  • Just to mention is there an online account you can check it on. My friend didn't have her booking ref for an easyjet claim but we found interestingly that when we originally logged in to our easyjet account it wasn't there as flight was from 2010. But when easyjet check it their end it must pull your old details up as when we logged on a couple of weeks later it was all viewable.
