I'm organising an event in aid of Cancer research as part of their Britain's Biggest Breakfast and to raise money I am going to hold a raffle. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with big companies donating prizes? I've had a look at the charities board and took some advice from there and I've contacted Aintree Race Course to see if they would donate some tickets.
Any advice would be gratefully received as it's the first time I've ever done anything like this.
It's being held at a local restaurant so all food and beverage prep has been taken care of its just ways of raising extra cash I'm looking for. They have kindly offered to donate a percentage of the mornings takings.
It's quite exciting now I've written it down. It's 11th March so time wise I haven't got very long.
A few years ago I organised an event to raise money for nicu after my nephew died.
I contacted loads of companies - mostly local. Boots were very helpful and a local gym. Hotel chocolate were very generous and a couple of local restaurants too.
It's hard work and you'll get a lot of "sorry" but you will get "yes" too.
I used letters and emails. Facebook/Twitter weren't as good back then as they are now so they might be some use to you tooI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. I have a pants memory so I don't think this would work for me! If we knew how to spot these then we could have more toiletry glitches.
Also Pringles, Doritos and Coke are v expensive in As at the mo so should be coming onto multis soon.
Good morning.
The 3 for £10 is there almost constantly and has been for years, but they go through cycles of increasing the number of items in the multi at certain points/events during the year (big sections appear on the promo aisles) and then keep adding to or removing items.
A lot of items have been removed and are currently working on a lower single item pricing - this is still the normal pattern but I know there has been talk of reducing multis and going with lower individual pricing (as manufacturers have certain products that are offered this way, it would probably be beyond just A to change tactics as it is across the sector on some items). As you note with other items, when the individual price goes up it is generally a sign that a multi is on the way as for some items (H&S, Pr1ngles etc) they are nearly always following this cycle and the multi offer price is nearer to the true value.
In most cases it is just spotting the new 3 for £10 promo starting and then spotting which items missed.

SD how lucky you are to have been able to experience this in real life ..I remember watching Joanna Lumley when she was on TV and they were saying it really is hit and miss if you manage to see this wonderful sight ...looks like you are having a fantastic time ..enjoy0 -
Good morning all, beautiful sunny day out there with a nice crisp frost.
Congratulations on your new home VT, but don't rush to unpack. We still have a tea chest in the attic that we have not unpacked, it is buried under immovable things. No rush though, we have only been here nearly 31 years :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Tropicana 1litre showing as incomplete offers. Best comparison is against Morrisons and for those in Northern Ireland, there's a Waitrose comparison but at 30 pence dearer than Morrisons.
We are unsure about this one, as most of them show as complete for us, but would be happy to be proved wrong!:):)N1LDA:D0
