Morning

There is a new offer starting today on the Mullers (even though it is same offer as last time 8 for £4) but the offer appears to have missed the morning update.
http://groceries.asda.com/promotion/2-for-pound350/ls87119
Savvybuyer, do you think there is any chance this could pick up the Morries offer (10 for £2) later today, or is this still clutching at straws :rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks.
Couple of other things not updated this morning but the only thing I can see that will give any return is this.
Oatley enriched oat drink, £1.39 each of 2 for £2.00
http://groceries.asda.com/promotion/2-for-pound350/ls87111
Should compare to Sainsbobs at £1.00
APG should see £2.78 v £2.00.
The general consensus is that for some reason they have not picked up the 10 for X Müller offers in M for ages - I cannot see a technical reason as the computer should cope and it cannot be poor price collecting as the odds of missing this big display every time would be slim?

Morning all, at least its stopped raining
Thinking about the problems everyone is having sorting their wardrobes out, yes it is a very long tedious process.
When our gang was home then there was always someone else’s bedroom to clean and clear or something else more urgent that needed doing. Main thing is not to beat yourself up about it. It was literally decades before I had a proper sort out and only as we were approaching the empty nest stage where I had to reinvent myself did I start to re evaluate .
I did mine section by section over several weeks Even now I’ve only really done the first cull. The second cull will be much more gradual and subtle and will probably take years.
2 of my wardrobes have double rails. I’ve got all of the knee length dresses together on the bottom section of one with jackets and cardigans on the top rail as they go together. I took almost all of my original jackets to Oxfam as most of them were circa the 1980s and 1990s. This section I have a serious need here for new jackets and smart cardigans to go with summer frocks.
The second wardrobe has skirts on the top section and on the bottom rail tops and shirts. The bottom rail is perfect, all in colour order and sleeve length order, all of the strappy tops on one hanger, all of the shirts and blouses at one end. This section I’ve kept perfect since the day I did it.
The long maxi frocks and cruise dresses go together in one ceiling to floor wardrobe – mainly summer, holidays and for posh dos.
I’ve not got many jeans so these tend to go on OHs trouser rail in his wardrobe.
Under the bed I’ve got a wicker baskets for leggings, running trousers and sportswear, the things that don’t crease and don’t need folding, things you grab first thing in the morning to put on so you are at least clothed.
Also swim things are in another wicker basket and I’ve got one for the thick winter woolly tights rolled into balls.
Also under the bed are the long plastic storage baskets with excess summer things in. The excess winter things are in a deep chest in the guest room as most of its quite bulky. Most of these will be heading to Oxfam but some might be worth ebaying - the longer these are out of sight the less attached I will be to them.
Now I’ve got things as I want them I set aside time to keep on top of things, to put things back in the wardrobe in the correct section, everything hung up and off the floor and to keep filtering things into the Oxfam bag. It’s very tedious work but I put a film on the ipad at the same time then it gives you a time frame, 90 mins to get straightened up again.
Also on a one in and one basis now if I buy something new then something has to go out. I got new white t –shirts in the sale last year so when I put them in the white t shirt section it made some of the others look very tired and old and scruffy so about half a dozen went out.
My own rule is that the item going out has to be of similar ilk and at least the same bulk eg if I got a new jacket them I could not put just a t shirt in the Oxfam bag it would have to be more than one thing.
Mostly I am attached to my dresses even though I don’t actually fit into many of my collection now and the summers we do have last a matter of days rather than weeks. I just like the patterns and styles and many have memories attached to them. I have made a start though and I managed to ebay a top and a dress last month.
Having everything in sections also means you can see where the gaps are and what things need replacing eg I've been on the look out for a soft mossy green cardigan as this would go with quite a few summer frocks“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I've just popped in at the right time and seen this. I think it is too much work for them. I think that, to pick up a "10 for..." offer, they would have to scan every Muller 10 times - multiply that by the number of Mullers and that shows you the scale of the task - and then would have to put them into the same offer on the system. In addition, I understand (certainly years ago) they scan every item three times, to try to ensure the price they are taking is correct. So 10x3x the number of individual Mullers stocked by M possibly times the number of different permutations that all of them could fit into a purchase of 10 in total. They can cope with six but not, it seems, with ten.
I don't know - I may be totally wrong. As I felt there was no chance yesterday (or the day before) that doesn't change now. The offer in M is unchanged so they should have got the same pricing on Wednesday as they got on Monday (we're probably still on Monday but might be on Wednesday). It makes no difference - either way, either day, I think they won't pick up '10 for...'. It would help if M went to 20p straight at any time, but I think they won't do that. (Would be far too good to let people just have one Muller at 20p - they want people to buy ten and spend at least £2 with them.) I've never known the APG pick up the 10 for... offer. Someone could try - might work, we never know. But I think it won't. May be best to try 10 of all the same one, to see if that one picks up the offer. The more different ones that are added the more risk there is of at least one failing - and therefore the whole lot getting £6.80 M. They would have to have every one that has been bought in the same offer on the system. Yet when 10 the same were tried last time (months ago), it failed. But maybe it could have been just that one that didn't have the M mbuy attached to it? Any shop that included that one as part of their 10 would have failed. Perhaps another one might work in 10s - but, if there is one, I have yet to see it and we don't know which one or ones, if any, might have the 10 for... offer attached. May be safer from Wednesday (which may mean wait until late tonight or even tomorrow unfortunately) as the M stores will now have changed their SELs to show this offer I feel. However, it's not safe at all IMO - I think it will never work.
They might as well just spend 2 hours, or whatever, getting all the Mullers prices and putting all of them into the offer. It would be a long job. I don't think they'd have time to do everything else they need to do that day. However, although this one might fail, we might perhaps want them to collect prices in M of more than just Mullers! Even I spend substantial time on some items - for example every one of the different Aussies in the 2 for £5 - taking their details down can be quite long, but I'm sure you'd want me to be getting information of other stuff besides those!0 -
Thanks for all your help in sorting travel arrangements, I am so surprised by the lack of public transport in rural areas.
next to our main road they have been building new estates on green fields. On the end of our road 40 houses have gone up. For weeks now they have been working on the junction with the main road including building a pedestrian island in the middle so people can cross . On one side they have made a pavement which peters out after a few yards. On the other side there is more pavement which only goes a few yards to the bus stop. The bus only runs once an hour, not in the evenings and not on Sundays.
so these new bits of pavement is never going to wear out or need replacing.
also if you stand on these new bits of pavement with the intention of getting across the main road eg to get to the bus stop on the far side to get the bus in the other direction it might actually take an hour. It is 40mph with a long sweeping bend so visibility is bad and no pedestrian crossing anywhere along its length.
but I suppose making pavements has ticked a box somewhere“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
My 2 mystery rose wine cases have arrived...
1 is better than the other but all things considered they are both worth the money with an estimated value of around £135 on a £96 spend....
...I think I prefer one case to the other as it contained 3 sparkling bottles and a good mix of the pinky rose's rather than the red ones...
....but we will get through all the bottles in the coming months and I'm at least thankful there was no weight watchers bottles and only 1 mateus!
TBH...I was never expecting to find anything vintage in a rose box in the same way a gem sometimes creeps into the whites.
now on the lookout for the whites online.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Thinking of offers that don't work - or have failed in the past - I noticed the 2L Domestos had gone to £1.47 in M yesterday. This picked up the £1.65 price on the own label product in error on a past collection, although I don't envisage the same error occurring again. However, I do think it will need to be waited on until the end of the week as it's only gone on offer in time for the Wednesday collection. See you later! HTH.0
