I'm grateful for any homemade cake TM.....Its the one thing that I cant make without having to scrape it from the tin and disguise the offending pile with cream and fruit....
...Everyone knows you eat a cake I make from a bowl with a spoon....so anything that needs cutting with a knife is a result worth celebrating!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Had to send my statement to a colleague to check though, so out of the habit of writing them I just wanted her to check I hadn't made any glaring mistakes!
Not long back from my weekly swim, upped to 50 lengths so I'll be back up to a mile soon enough. Its definitely getting easier each week!
Am I the only person that hasn't been to Sainsburys? Literally can't be bothered. They have closed the road which is the most direct route there, been closed all weekend. Reason? To build a roundabout for a school which hasn't been approved yet at our police headquarters, which the PCC wants to sell to build his beloved school despite the fact we don't yet have anywhere to go to. Despite all of this, the school is supposedly opening in September and the PCC has paid £500k of the police budget towards it despite the fact we are having to save £20 million or something ridiculous like that over the next few years.
Anyway, I digress. Road closure has meant traffic chaos near me hence I can't be bothered to go to Sainsburys! Getting down to Asda to get my c&c yesterday was hard enough.
No, Your not the only one that hasn't been to Sainsbury's, I haven't either.
Road closure, school etc par for the course. Said very tongue in cheek, shouldn't your 'supposedly' be 'allegedly'? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Really exciting day today, started to do my VAT return.:eek::eek:0 -
I made a start in the garden the other day....but I have had to abandon my efforts until the rain subsides..too wet yesterday...although looking out of the window I'm surprised how light it still is for 5pm considering the weather isnt good.
Did you put in any spring bulbs last autumn?
I started planting in September and went through until nearly November, every time we went out I got more bulbs, it was never ending and I also did about 30 pots and bucket of bulbs, everything is growing full on but wish it would start flowering. At the moment it all looks like daffs or snowdrops but I know I did lots of varieties of things
The front garden is the worse, I really need to find things that will flower between November and February“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I have been cultivating a spring garden for many years and usually try to add something to it each year although its probably become more volume of small flowers than variety over the past few years...
The snowdrops are really doing well this year and there are definite sproutings from the dwarf daffs....somewhere in there should be assorted crocus and then following through to bluebells for May....its my favourite part of the garden...I just have to sometimes makes sure the postman doesnt trample too heavily and deviate from the path!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
