Good progress. I was determined to get 10 new things listed today but haven't. After sorting the garage and Mrs SJ sorting DS1's clothes all we have done is added to the pile!!

Great sounding bbq by the way, very envious!

Well done KK... I too struggle to list things on eBay so I'm pleased you had the motivation to do it :) eBay don't let you list two items with the same title, but I found that generally if you try to list the same thing again and then change the wording in the title slightly (maybe add the word 'used' or 'new') it normally allows me to post it. Might be worth a try? Good luck with the selling!

Charley you little treasure! That totally worked so the second thermostat is now listed and on a ten day auction or buy it now :D hurrah!

Manchester trip went well- had a great 121 with my team member, who told me he's really enjoying working for me (it's been three months now) as he feels confident knowing that I have faith in him and am giving him room to try different approaches to his work :D I think that has just about made my month :D
(He's a very good egg, a total expert in his job, just needs some space to try stuff and not be worried of things failing!)

NSD other than petrol for work hire car, will submit for expenses in the morning so should get that back in a fortnight!

I was feeling really lazy when I got home and gf had left for Scotland, but I went and made myself put my gym kit on and go to the gym. Managed a 5km run on the treadmill and 30mins on the stepper machine....it was a total sweat fest though, I am not one of those glam gym bunnies :D

Made a delicious heck chicken sausage pasta when I got in, and half portion is cooking on the worktop for tomorrow's lunch. Not sure whether to go into office....it's company if I do go in, however that can be distracting plus I get tempted to buy canteen coffees or food, will decide when the alarm goes in the morning.

Overpayment this month so far are at £20.33 made up of £7 toaster, £3 Pinecone, £1.53 savings interest and Tilly Tidies. Not too bad this side of pay day. Will log onto joint account shortly and see if any TTs can be done for today :heartpuls
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Decided to work from home today and keep the kitties company! However working from home doesn't unfortunately equate to a stress free day. So I'm having my second cuppa of the day (usually on my 4th/5th by now!) and updating the mortgage OP spreadsheet :D

From rough calculations on it it looks like the OPs made since we started the mortgage on 30th Sept 2016 we have cleared four months off there term and £3240.80! :D

This is assuming we stay on the same rate forever which I know isn't accurate but working with what I've got! Four months off the mortgage just from sending across tilly tidies, some ebaying/carbooting and a regular payment. Not too bad really!

Pinecone survey completed before work this morning so will have another £3 shortly, and expenses claim in for the petrol yesterday. Aiming for another NSD today but the fridge is a bit devoid of any fresh veggies (used up a lot that looked dodge yesterday!) but we do have a freezer full and the larder is stocked so I just need to think it through and not be lazy.
Cereal for brekkie (on cashback so cost £1 a box but is a total treat!) and the chicken sausage pasta leftovers for lunch however my portioning is off as today's portion is huge!

No word from the tile place so going to call them this afternoon and find out what's going on....although in honesty if we can put that back a month it would really help as £120 is needed for silver class fees for September that I hadn't budgeted in :(

  • Your figures are looking excellent Kitten you're making huge strides! Thanks for motivating me to list on eBay, it's giving us some extra pennies to play with. £104 for June groceries is Wow! I've got some learning to do to get it that low.

Hi Elephantchunks, it's important to remember that I don't buy milk or toilet paper as we get that from gf's parents shop for free :)

But the rest is from some YS buying, scratch cooking and not always having gf home (e.g. It's been dinner for one for me the past two nights) . I'm still very pleased as budget £30 a week as a guide.

We now just need to get a better reign on the eating out front! :P

In reply to your question about PA on Ch4rly's thread - I think it does make a difference if you're looking on a phone - a lot of the surveys require a laptop/desktop only. Are you checking throughout the day (if you can) too, as the spaces fill up very quickly! (There's a thread on the Boost Your Income board that sends alerts for PA surveys when someone notices that there is one - that might help?)

I know what you mean about the silver class fees - I kept getting stung by my evening class costs, but I've just incorporated it into my monthly pots (evened out across the whole year ;) ) so hopefully I'll have the money put aside by the time my cheque is cashed in September :) (it helps that our teacher owed us a lesson too, so bill has been suitably reduced!).

Coffee break time for me :coffee:

Had a call back from the tile place, we're talking three weeks for the tiles to be back in stock which whilst annoying, it does help my July budget, hopefully the tiles and work can be paid for after 15th August (the next pay day!)

Called a few places re fitting the cat flap and the prices vary so I have. One company want £295 for the glass pane and then £95 for the cat flap (microchip one). Another have quoted £290 all in. We budgeted for £250 so a little more than we thought. I'm off to check the £290 company for reviews online and then hopefully book in. Takes around 2 weeks from measuring and will use funds from instant savings to clear it.

Went to Mr Ts last night and got some bread for £1, which will be credited through a cashback app, (also grabbed one for mum and gf will claim back on her app tonight) some basics mozzarella and some ys thyme (11p). I then made a mozzarella calzone for one (bread flour, yeast, tomatoe puree all in stock) with some fries from the freezer.
Today is cheese on toast for lunch, and when I head to the gym after work will stop at Lidl (a 5 min walk from the gym) for courgettes to make pork meatballs which Ill bake in the oven and serve with courgetti-spaghetti ready for gf getting home around 9pm. Can't wait to see her tonight, I've been a bit anxious as she's back up in Glasgow with work but she's not driving still, can't help but worry after the other week still.

Thanks to reading Ch4rleys thread I was spurred on and have opened an NS&I account with £100, and will set up a standing order for £50 a month come Nov/Dec time when my cash flow is looking better :D I love the idea of a no loss lottery, I know it won't gain interest but my instant access saver is only gaining 0.25% anyways so I harm there!

Right, best drink up and crack back on with work!

Thanks TheMadVix; I kept seeing other posts about cashing out a lot and couldn't fathom how as I check a few times a day but always on my phone. I've logged in via my laptop now and will check on my work breaks and hopefully get an it more via that route :D

    Hi Kittenkirst!

I should have realised you would have kittens. We have two boys too - a bit older than yours - in fact it's their first birthday on Saturday. Hope yours bounce back from the op - they mostly seem to.
