Thanks guys
it's all about balance I think, trimming the fat where we can and having fun along the way
Went for a run last night as I was feeling a bit down about my weight, so rather than sulking I went for a half hour run outside...step in the right direction at least!
We've spotted the neighrbours have their glass bin out so have popped ours out- ever hopeful! We've not had the glass or grass collected since we've moved in. I've already taken one huge box of glass to a recycling point across town a good few months ago...fingers crossed for collection today!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Oh and in house news we have a contractor coming out to overpaint that odd patch on the lounge wall...they are going to paint over it and then we are to monitor it for the next year and see if it comes back. If it does it will mean removing bricks and all manner of testing.
We also noticed a roof tile or two have come down and our gate we can't get the bolt across as the gate has swelled. They are sending work people's out to take a look over the next few weeks.
I must say that Barratts aftercare has been great at getting things investigated and fixedFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Hi all, what a great weekend!
Friday night was lovely, gf was really nervous all day but had a fab time, all but two people have paid me back the deposit (hurrah!) and despite best intentions to not put drinks on the bill (to make splitting it easier) the restaurant couldn't accommodate it, so everyone had to work out their bills plus service charge at the end. Luckily there was only £5.1 difference which I covered (minimal really), we all then went to a few bars for a few drinks and got home quite late.
Went to a friends birthday barbecue yesterday, they moved in just down the road and it was lovely. We both decided not to drink but ate ALL the barbecue food
Been off to gf parents today for lunch - had akhu shak and dhal with rotlis which is I think my favourite dish that her mum cooks!! We've all (kittens included) had a nice snooze on the sofa this afternoon.
Other than some budgeted spends on Friday overall spending been good- bought some dokra yesterday for the birthday boy as he loves it, and bought two birthday cards today and a small shop at Lidl (peppers, courgettes, baking spud, etc bought for the week). Filled the car with £30 today which l had budgeted £50 for and managed to eeeek out filling out for a week so not too bad.
Gf is off to Glasgow tomorrow with work so just me for dinner for two nights- I'm planning on making a butternut squash, sweet potato and bean chili for dinner tomorrow with leftovers of it on a jacket spud on Tuesday after Jewellery class.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

PS the glass bin didn't get emptied!
May have to make a trek to the glass recycling place across the town with it.
Not sure when the grass recycling is either as that's starting to mount up.
PPS- I've popped a very cute pic of Hugo on Instagram if anyone wants some kitty cuteness :heartpuls https://instagram.com/p/BVxlGSaljc-/First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Feeling your frustrations n recycling, ours in completely hit and miss as to what day they come and the street ends up with all kinds of cardboard and plastic littered about. Though you must have a good council if they can recycle grass
Sounds like you had a great weekend!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Sounds like a lovely weekend! Aww Hugo is one gorgeous kitty!Mortgage Balance as of September 2025 £11,700
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!0 -
Ha ha Jimmy! You knew what I meant though ;p
Thanks Jessy- he's a right cutie :heartpuls he's now started to do the head rub thing against my legs when I come home. Adorable. However they've both ravaged the gorgeous dining chairs we bought from nextwe need to find out if they do different covers for them (they have a zip up the back so I'm hopeful!)
Working from home today but had some IT isssues so went in before the workforce were in and got it sorted so I could come back home.
One load of washing is out drying in the mid-day sun, it's still sunny but dropped a bit chilly so a jumper is on and Hugo nestled on my lap for warmth.
Went to the gym yesterday (5km run, 10 minute rowing and 17min weight training- press ups etc) and ate really well. I need to take each day as it comes regarding my weight and not get too hung up on it.
Used the cross trainer (in spare room) for 15 mins before work and will either have another go at lunch to get it to 45 mins or go to the gym
Should be a NSD today as not planning on visiting any shops, and dinner is a bit of a use-up tea as the butternut is looking sorry for itselfFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
