Exciting/frustrating times. Good luck with the job application. Your posts always make me feel hungry with the descriptions of lovely food. Am off to start dinner now !
Hope you have something super tasty planned
We ended up having a chicken jungle curry, as discovered we were out of garlic and onions (which Almost NEVER happens in our house!)
So we used half a curry paste jar from Sainsbury’s that was reduced to 80p. It said extra spicy on the label and boy was it! So tasty and we ended up in Sainsbury’s today so scouted out another jar and bought my brother one too!
Went to see brother in oxford and helped him take back his recalled Argos’s mattress topper to the Argos in Sainsbury’s and got him a cash refund result!- so then treated him to the Sainsbury’s cafe which was tasty and we got to chat and got him out of his flat for a while (he tends to stay in a lot more in the winter as his schizophrenia always seems a bit worse then). £20 well spent I think and gf and I both had a lovely baguette each and no need for dinner as we’re both still full.
Weather on the drive home was horrific though and saw a crash right in front of us as someone went through a massive amount of water on the dial carriageway and smacked into another driver. If you’re off out tonight/tomorrow please take extra care and leave a little earlier
Managed to get Shoppix up the £5 and was going to cash out but think will keep it going to the £20 point as will be less points than cashing it out four times..fingers crossed for lots of Christmas receipts! Managed a Pinecone survey last night and some small prolific surveys too so will keep an eye out next week.
Managed to get to yoga this morning and feeling better for it. My dad is visiting tomorrow (I never really hear/see him so am a but surprised) so won’t get to go tomorrow morning so planning a mini flow on my mat in the spare room whilst gf goes to the gym. Need to consciously stick to the routine for next few weeks until it becomes easier again....
Hope everyone’s snuggled up in the warm tonight!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Snow!? Wow it’s super cold where you are!!
I had the news last week- they’ve rejected my redundancy as want to keep me in the company. Which whilst complimentary is not at all what I want and leaves me with some decisions to make now that there will be no redundancy payout bonus
On the positive side I went to a conference for the franchise travel company at the weekend which was so inspiring and motivational and I had the interview with the other company this afternoon and it went so well.
So well that they’ve invited me for a second interview.....! :T
So a bit of a mixed fortnight- I’m pretty gutted about my current work as a lot of people had theirs accepted so are skipping off onto new jobs etc with a chunky payout leaving me feeling a little stuck.
I’m trying to frame it positively in my mind that I still have a job and a salary paying the mortgage whilst I work out what to do next....First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

The good news is her role is safe, so she’s happy and will go back to working for her old manager as part of the restructure so she’s super happy!
It’s been a manic week, due to gfs cousin passing away we have been going down south on multiple days to be with the family (they have a 13 day ritual where you go to the family home every day), and we had the funeral this week which was tough for everyone.
We’ve been to yoga this morning then for the weekly shop (£30 thanks to Lidl), then made kheema toasties for a naughty lunch. I have got some of the frozen chicken thighs out and will make a chicken bacon and rice casserole for supper alongside some kale :heartpuls:First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Sorry to hear about gfs cousin and also the news on the redundancy. Big believer here in that everything happens for a reason, so try and stay positive. You have a job whilst you think about your next steps and gf does too.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hi Charley & Debtfreeoneday, thank you for your condolences. Girlfriend is doing okay but is having a tough time again at work. I can’t say what it is yet but it’s causing her a lot of stress & anxiety. I’m trying my best to keep her positive and distracted.
On a bright note I have the second interview in just over a week, however I think I have decided not to take it due to the commuting and longer hours (9.5hrs+ a day, 5 days a week, plus required overtime then plus the 1hr 15mins commute each way!) I’m going to go for the interview for practice still!
I have however been to an open day on Friday of the travel company that does it as a franchise, so I’d be self employed and building my own client base etc. It’s a risk and would mean variable pay for some time until I get a steady stream of regular customers etc. BUT I’m super excited about it all and gf is very much onboard with it so we’re just waiting to see what happens with the gfs stressful situation and then make a plan of action!
Toad in the hole was tonight’s dinner (using half a £1 bag of Richmond sausages, the kale that’s been in the fridge a week and a quick homemade batter with added mustard and onions!! Which went down a treat, nice hearty dinner which also worked to warm the house a little whilst the oven was on. Heating is on currently but we are both wearing jumpers, slippers and in blankets :-/First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Happy New Year mortgage free wannabes!
I’ve been quiet recently but reading a few other threads when I can!
The girlfriends work thing is now resolved- they put her through an investigation and disciplinary process to then decide she had done nothing wrong and there was no case to answer to!
We are super pleased it’s all over and she found got her letter confirming it all was over on Christmas Eve! However really frustrated/angry that they’ve put her through such stress and anxiety for 5 weeks over nothing!
She’s being positive now and looking at other job opportunities and has a phone interview with a Nottingham company tomorrow (interviewer was poorly today so fingers crossed she’s in tomorrow) and she’s waiting to hear from another company who want her (& she’s not applied for!) so we’re hoping that by May/June at the latest she will be at a new company and on a much better wage (oddly by doing the same role elsewhere it is a 10k pay increase on what we both currently get- so much for company loyalty!)
I cancelled that interview in the end, and have decided to go for the self employed franchise! Eeeeeeeek!!
I will pop a post a bit later on our overpayments for last year as due to the redundancy news and other stuff largely went off the boil in the latter part of the year!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
