I remember fondly the pre-children days when i cycled/ran to and from work. I'm fortunate to work less than 5 miles from home yet have to drive because of school run and drop offs on the way. You'll enjoy the cycling, providing you have the right layers!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

I’ve been investigating the bike situation more and annoyingly Halfords aren’t part of the scheme, but a local bike shop is (their bikes have a slightly higher price point but positives is it’s a local business so my local economy).
I’ve read up on it lots and am going to go in on Saturday morning after yoga to look at the bike range and work out how much I will spend. I can then sign up to the bike2work scheme, request my voucher and wait for it to arrive.
In my eagerness whilst waiting for Monday yoga I nipped in fat face- they had a Christmas gift on sale of a bike water bottle, with a puncture repair kit, multi tool thingy and both lights, was originally £20 reduced to £5. So I snapped that up ready. Had a good look through the wardrobe for suitable over clothing for cycling and gf has an old super dry windcheater we were going to try to eBay. However it fits me perfectly and the fault it has (toggles broken at the botttom) won’t matter for cycling but will keep me dry & warm. Bonus!
We’ve been very good the past few days in the office taking in water bottles, travel mugs, and all food. Today is a work from home day so I made a nice apple & cinnamon porridge (free apple from work yesterday:T)
Payday is on Monday and I’m very much looking forward to it. I’ve taken back the Asda fitness clothes that didn’t fit and the refund has cleared, just waiting for the killstar refund for the gothic shoes and dress bought for the Christmas party (I didn’t go due to gf hospital situation)- I’ve sent them an email last night to chase it as it’s £100 so keen to have that back in my account!

Hey
How's January over payments going?Starting Balance August 2016: £170,199.00 | Remortgaged August 2018: £212,000.00
Current Balance (15th February 2019): £209,278.85
Target: Balance below £170,000.00 by August 20230 -
Hi all & MichaelDH, it feels like ages since I last posted- managed to lose my password and got stuck in a cycle of password resets without being able to get in!
Payday has been & gone- mortgage overpayments made of £342.45 and an additional £140 overpaid as it’s a council tax free month.
So we’re starting January with a great overpayment (for us!) of £634.59 making us 14% of our annual target already.
Pension pot, Lifetime ISA, sharesave & SIP schemes have all had the monthly boost too. Annoyingly I didn’t change my monthly saver back up after Christmas so only £200 saved instead of my planned £400- will call and amend February’s to make sure I catch up from the smaller payment in December.
Money-wise all other spends are going well. Received £70 cashback from Quidco which I used to buy a few work dresses (in sales online with discount codes etc! Paid £38 for two work dresses so not bad)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
