Thank you very much for the birthday wishes and the well wishes for the gf. The fab news is that she’s finally home
She’s now going to be off work for a short while to recuperate, at least until Christmas, but she can rest at home with the cats where she is comfortable :heartpuls:
I came home from work today to find my birthday card, present, flowers and a cinnamon bun waiting for me to celebrate my birthday which was very lovely!
Off to see the big brother tomorrow as he has a tribunal for his disability allowance so I’m going as moral support. It’s not until the afternoon so I’ll get a little bit of a lay in and leave for 10am. I’m very much looking forward to a later start as it’s been a lot of early starts and late finishes recently.
Jacket spuds are in the oven for a nice homely dinner- we splashed out on pizza yesterday as she was discharged pretty late and we have hardly any food in as I’ve mostly been eating at the hospital. Crazily the pizza we wanted to order was £17.99, but we could get the same pizza with a garlic bread, potato wedges and two bottles of Diet Coke for £16.49! Makes no sense, so gf had the leftovers for lunch today.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Oh forgot to add, we’ve been looking to do our charity donation this year and have clubbed together with gfs parents. We have contacted the local shelter to see what they need and they are in desperate need of sleeping bags for people living on the streets.
I’ve just ordered some to be delivered on ThursdayI searched for a
Discount code- using this meant that we got an additional sleeping bag for free. We’ll then go on Thursday night/Friday to the shelter to drop off the 11 sleeping bags. Hopefully it will help keep some people warm for a while and provide some comfort.
Only a small gesture but if it improves one persons situation (even if only temporarily) than it is so worthwhile.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

What a really good idea to contact the shelter, I'll have to remember that for next year. We clubbed together with some family members and donated £80 to the salvation army instead of getting each other presents. £30 went to water aid in DH name as his present also. Alot of people seem to be opting for this type of 'present' this year.

Fantastic news gf is home , hope she is on the mend , sure at home time with the cats will help!
What a great idea re donations , do something for food banks each year but love the idea of finding something more practical too!

Christmas is now done- the brother & his gf are now returned to their home town (a nice 160 mile round trip) and we have had a nice supper of leftovers to use it up.
We were good this morning and got out to the gym before the guests woke to get a cardio session in, and then have stuffed ourselves with the Christmas goodies! :rotfl:
In MFW news we stayed out of the Boxing Day sales and have only spent -£1.60 on more milk (Bro’s gf likes a lot of milk so we’ve got through 4 4pint bottles since Sunday) and then two Starbucks coffees using the prepaid account (topped up via Zeek!).
But, the more frugal aspect is we got our first payout from Shoppix- the receipt app so it’s taken less than a month to earn £5 just scanning every day receipts. We will keep this up as takes minimal effort. So a further OP this month of £5 madeFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
