Vodafone incorrectly charging late payment fee?

I'm on a pay monthly contract, have been on same account and same number for 10+ years and always have paid direct debit. Apparently Vodafone changed their billing system sometime in December or January and the accounts had to be "ported" across. Since then I've had constant issues with my bills and was charged a late payment fee for missing a billing date, even though I pay direct debit each and every month. I'm disputing this with them and really want to get out of my contract with them as enough is enough. But my main concern is will this late payment fee go against my credit rating score? Anyone else with similar issue's

It will if it is reported.
The easiest way to find if it is reported is to check the credit files.

How can I find that out and what can I do to rectify it??

1) Sign up to Experien or Equifax (or some other credit monitoring company) and LOOK. Clearscore is free and others offer 30 days free.

2) Not a lot until you can get Vodafone to admit their error and correct it on your external files. THAT will prove almost impossible and the problem will continue to escalate unless you contact the Web Relations Team (see instructions on top thread), although even they are now struggling to do anything now when faced with Vodafone's systems and attitudes.
