Have you considered not giving a toss what plate the car has on it? Much easier and cheaper.

Round here where I live there are scrotes who target new cars and key them - or snap the mirrors off.

Jealousy of course and there is little one can do apart from have a plate which doesn't scream 'New!'.

I have a pretty anonymous plate and feel it helps.

Unless this "pretty anonymous plate" is a fairly recent age-indicator and a suitably random set of letters, won't these scrotes just assume it's a new car on a private plate, and be more inclined to key it?

Well it's worked so far with my last car and with my current one.

    Touch wood.

I can't prove it's effective of course - I just think there are a group of local yobs who seem to target cars with the latest plates.

Very rarely do we hear of any other car being vandalised.
