Question about MAC codes

I'm with AOL, and have been happy with the service I've been receiving, but I'm out of contract now and am looking to reduce how much I pay if possible. I'm paying £14.99 per month but often hear about people getting £9.99 deals.

I don't really want to switch, but my question is: if I phone up and request a MAC code, I'm not actually tied in to leaving them am I? If they don't offer me a better deal, then is it the case that if I don't pass on the MAC code to another supplier, then I'll be able to stay with AOL at £14.99/month?

Thanks in advance

Check to see if your exchange has been unbundled for AOL here. If it has, you have a good chance of getting it for £9.99.
